Scat I le, I 'd). -’8.--The Camcr ou-Johnson stock under option to Charles llewill, of Tacoma, has been released to Sidney Drake, who has financed the company and lias a shipment of 100 tons of general freight and machinery on hoard I he S. S. Yukon, which will he landed here and taken to the property up Slump hay as soon as possible. The Camfcron-Johnson stock has been traded in to consider able extent lately, many of those who. were on tile inside knew of the finances having been raised for the development work and I hose, who hold stock have al ways felt that the property would he a producer if the money for development work was raised. The following appeared in a Yakima paper telling of the financing' of the Cameron-Jolm son: Mining enthusiasm in 'North Yakima is likely to receive a de cided boost from an exhibition of free milling, gold-bearing quartz which is now being made by Sid ney Drake, of Valdez, Alaska, at i he Washington hotel. This show has been staged by Mr. Drake for the benefit of some of North Y’ak iina’s prominent citizens who are fellow owners with him of a very promising Alaska property near Valdez. Mr. Drake has scattered about his room several hundred sam ples of the ore, pictures, blue prints, a mortar and even an old prospector's pan, which he deftly manipulates in a tub of water, washing mil the yellow stuff from ruck which lie crushes for his friends while I hey wail. Tile property from which the ore came is called the Cameron ■Tohnson and is situated near Slump hay, 15 miles from Val dez. Yakima Men Interested. Among Mr. Drake’s North Yak ima associates are Alexander Mil ler. (leorge S. Rankin, D. A. Mc Donald. II. Y. Saint, Patrick .Mul lins and Martin Olsen, former county commissioner. Mr. Ol sen is an (dd mining man. and is evincing equal pride with Mr. Drake in showing I lie; strong points of the ore and properly lo j local s|iickholders.
