The petition of E DeLand for partial abatement of taxes on city lots was rejected. Petition of N Marso for reduc tion of valuation on account of dup licate assessment was granted. Petition of Wm Knorr for abate ment of personal property taxes on account of erroneous assessment was granted. Petition of Nor beck & Nicholson for abatement of personal taxes for the year 1909 on account of erroneous assessment was granted. Petition of Thor Halvorson for par tial abatement of personal property tax was granted. The following resolution was pre ented and on motion adopted: Resolved, That the sum of $1666.66 be appropriated to be used to pay the UrmWestinghouse,Church Kerr& Co. to make preliminary engineering sur vey of the proposed Little Bend power and irrigation project provided, if upon examination said engineers find the project impracticable, then they shall be paid not to exceed $750.00 from such fund, but if they find it to be practicable and then make a com plete and exhaustive report upon such project in Hughes county, then in that case they are to expend so much of said fund as or may be agreed upon. And further, Resolved, That the County Auditor be instructed to draw a warrant to send to Westinghouse, Cburcli, Kerr & Comr any for the sum of $333.33 to be paid them as a retainer fee for such work. Provided that this resolution shall be effective only in case Sully and Staniey counties take similar action. Board adjourned to 1:30 p. m. Pierre, S. D., Sept. 7, 1911.
