BILL TO HELP HOMESTEADER
Colony (Wyo.) Coyote: Representa
tive Moudell has introduced auother
bill which is of special interest to
homesteaders and which ought to be
enacted into law. The bill provides
for two things, first, it would restore
the practice of allowing all home
steaders, except those who commute
their entries, the privilege of claim
ing "constructive residence" during
the first six months after making en
try whether they are actually on the
land during this period or not sec
ond, it woula grant each entryman a
leave of absence from the first of
December to the first of May each
year, and that such Absences will not
have to be made up but can be claim
ed as residence, except in cases where
com mutation proof iB made.
Washington Post: We very much
fear that the church won't get very
far in the effort to banish hats from
service unless some other place is
provided where the women can show
em off to the same advantage.
Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune: The
farmer who has any hay to sell—and
they are few enough—is certainly
fortunate. At a recent sale south ot
this city some wild hay sold at $19.25
per ton, or almost a cent a pound.
The farmers' of northern Stanley
county are having great difficulty
preserving their hay for their own
use. Stanley county voted for the
herd law and it is nominally in force,
but hundreds of head of cattle, rang
ing ordinarily to the north of the
Cheyenne, have been driven south in
to Stanley, where they break down
fences, destroy pasture and hay in
stacks and Bheds. 1

The sweet pastoral life of a New

large audience which showed their ap

was entwined around a pretty New Eng

turned a very dignified city woman.
The plot was clever. F. F. Parker in
the role of Uncle Joshua Higgins por
