A woman of unbound mind wu conveyed to liay view asylum Tuesday from her reU dence, Vll Harford avenue, says tho American, bbe U the widow of the late Albert K. Ordway, a cloth ing cutter from Chicago, who committed suicide at his home, 14)4 Harford avenne, on March 10 last Mrs. Sophia Elljabeth Ordway ciuims that her husband was the com paniou of William Tascott the man who is supposed to have murdered Millionaire Amos J. Snell in Chicago a few years ago. She says her husband took to drink shortly after their marriage in 1391, and things kept growing worse, until desperate from lack of work and money he put a mask on his face one nijht and declared he would make old man Snell give him some cash or he would kill the mill ionaire. She pleaded with him to renounce his wicked intentions. He, however, was resolved to act and he left the house In a hurry. That r.ljht he did not return, but the next morning he came back to the house with out any shots and with a bloody handkerchief. This handker chief he tried to wash nt a saloon before returning home. When questioned by her he raid that he had loaned his shoes to Tascott, who had been Injured by being shot and was lyinin the rear of a saloon on Wcit Mauison street One of the most Important statements in the woman's story Is that she de clared that Tascott is dead, bbe says she knows he was strangled to death and his body made way with by his pals. In that connection she frequent ly mentioned tho names of Funkhouscr. Marsdcn and Reynolds. Subse quent to the murder of Million aire Snell she says her husband was continually nervous and always seemed very anxious to leave the city. After a rood deal of persuasion she ajrreed to accompany him to Baltimore. After they arrived in Baltimore she told him she intended to expose his crime. This made him grow desperate and de spondent and ho took to drink and tin ally killed himself, Chicago. Oct 14. Inspector George W. Hubbard, who a few days after the murder was appointed chief of police, says ho does not remember ever hav irff heard any one by the name of Ord way meniioned in connection with the tragedy.
