Tbe same committee reported back to the board, without recommendation, the claim of F. E. Wright ef $21.5-0 for ervices as deputy game warden. Mr. Gould moved that the claim b? .tllowi-d as presented. Mr. J. W. Walker moved as a substi tute that tbe claim be referred back t the committee for further investiga tion. Lost. The motion made by VI r. Gould be ing thereupon put was carried, a ma jority of the members elect voting therefore. The committee on rejected taxc made the following report and on mo tion of Mr. Kinney the same wa adopted, a majority of the member elect voting therefor: To tbe Honorable Board et Supervisors ot Kent Couaty: Gentlemm Yoar committee to whom was referred the petition of John Krvm praying for tbe re-payment to him of certain taxes heretofore paid by him oa certain lands then situated iU the town of Walker, said county, which lands were sold for taxes cUimed as being unpaid by reason of a void aud indefinite description thereof, having investigated said claim de respectfully report aa follows: We find the claim made by said peti tioner to be true and that said land was sold for the taxes of 1SS0, and was bid in by one Martin Congdon, from whom said John Krem was obliged to re-purchase it for the sum of $12.00; that the expense of drawing bia deed was 75 cents and of recording the same will be 75 cents. That on the description of land re ferred to in taid petition as having been doubly assessed and sold for the taxes of said John, Krem paid to the Auditor-General for a certificate of error 25 cent, and the recording of the same will cost 50 cents. And your com mittee find that equitably the said sums should be repaid to said peti tioner, John Krem, and consequently recommend that the Supervisor of Walker township be directed to spread upon bis roll for the ensuing year tbe sura of $14.25; that when collected the same be paid to the Couaty Treasurer and by said Treasurer to be paid to the order of John Krem. And your committee farther report that tbe said land described in said pe tition was sold to tho state for the Uxea of 1331. 1332 and 18 S3 after said taxes had been paid upon said land by said John Krem; that the title passed by virtue thereof still remains in the state, and the amount of taid state tax n $10.43; that the Auditor-Oeaeral re fuses to reeeivo a payment thereof, under tho present tax law, in conse quence of an opinion of the Attorney- General, and thty recommend that the County Treasurer bo directed to charge back said taxes as erroneous to the town of Walker, notify said Auditor General therof, and inu a certificate of error therefor to said John Krem and that said amount together with the sum of 50 cents for recording said certificate laid Supervisor be directed to spread upon bis said roll, and the 50 cents when collected to be paid over to the County Treasurer, for payment by him to the order of John Krem.
