Hunter, of Mussey, then made a motion that the district committee be requested to call the next convention at Capac, which was carried. Convention then adjourned. James Dunn, the Republican Candi date for representative In tho 3d dis trict of St. Clair County, is yet a young man under 40. He will have time to make his first speech in the Repre sentative Hall at Lansing, 'ere he reaches his 40th milestone. He was born in the County of Perth, Ontario; but at the age of seventeen came to Michigan. It would seem that he is not given to change, for with the ex ception of but two years, he has since constantly resided upon and operated the farm on which he now lives. He has stuck to the farm and made it pay. The itching for oflice, which attacks many has almost passed him by. Until two years ago, he never came up for any official position. As a prac tical farmer, he will not forget the wants of his fellow farmers it' called upon to vote upon questions concern ing their interest in the legislative halls. Mr. Dunn has this year receiv ed the nomination of his party for this honorable and responsible office, with out an opposing vote. We know him to bear the reputation among his neighbors of being a man square and upright in all his dealings. That is the kind of a man the people want, and we believe that he with others like him will be sent to Lansing in suffi cient force, that the next session of our legislature will pass some useful honest laws, and be scot free from the odium of past ones. We feel confident Mr. Dunn will be the people's choice at the polls next November. One thing is certain; Mr. Dunn as an honest man can make the canvass of the district, meeting men face to face, as honest men aro wont to meet. On this broad basis he can conduct his canvass, and rest content in letting the voters do the rest. Star Poultry Powder Tays. for itself ten fold. All you have to do is feed it.
