Dr. ('. 11. Stockwell has been a mem
ber of the First Congregational church
choir in l'ort Huron for just forty
years and during that time there have
been only four different pastors of the
church.
The coal pile belonging to the Klcc
tric Light plant in l'ort Huron got
afire last week and all efforts to quench
the tlames failed. Thousands of dol
lars worth of coal burned up in the
open air.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hicks, of Ar
mada, are believed to be the oldest
couple in southern Michigan and per
haps in the state. Mr. Hicks has just
celebrated his ninety-third birthday,
while his wife is eighty-eight. They
have lived near Armada for reventy
years.
