A SUCCESSFUL MEETING.
The prayer meeting of the Christian
Kndeavor Society held in the Presby
terian church last Sunday evening was
a successful one. A special program
had been arranged for the meeting and
was carried out as planned.

by Flizabeth Parkinson, who brought
out many good points. Vera Wallace
Played as an instrumental the ever
beautiful song, "Jerusalem," which
was listened to with interest. Oscar
Denison was then called upon to give
"Kvidences of Faith in Abraham's
Life," which he did in such a way as to
interest and instruct all. He followed
the life of Abraham through and
showed(the many instances of faith ex
hibited. K. A. Carney and F. 11. Dou
glass then favored the audience with a
cornet duet, accompanied by Mrs. Dou
glass. i lie tluet was very well ren
dered. K. II. Drake responded to the invita
tion of the leader to speak on "Obedi
ence," which he did in a most pleasing
way. He started out bv savinc that in
order to have obedience, we must lirst
have law. He outlined a natural trend
of thought under these heads: -1st law.

punishment. He gave a very practice
