Hob has since been receiving congratulations from his nu merous friends. The past week has been dull for business in Vale on account of the farmers all being busy in the harvest field. Mrs. Levi White was taken to the Port Huron hospital the first of the week suffering from typhoid-malarial fever. From recent reports we are in formed that the fever is being kept under control. Itapley for a few days' visit the lirst of this week. Jack Johnson was in Port Huron last Sunday to see hm wife who is in the hospital undergoing an operation. He reports her getting along nicely. Foster was called by tele gram to the bedside of her oldest son at Newark, N. J., where he lies very low by sickness and is not expected to live. She left for there Saturday last. Itev. S. M. (Jilchriese went to Cass City Wednesday to attend the funeral of Oscar Charles Wood, a prominent mason and civil war veteran and a member of the Methodist Fpiscopal church of that place where Mr. (Jil chriese was pastor for several years.
