Bradfield, Pastor Mark Twain Entertainment. Mr. Charles Husted, the lecturer-re citalist and characterise who will give an entertainment in Central Hall on Friday evening, Feb. 12, comes from a distinguished family of public men. The paternal family begins with John Ilus, the liohemian reformer and re ligionist. A number of his relatives were noted on the field of battle, one James Husted distinguishing himself for an act of bravery at W aterloo un der Wellington. His grandfather was a noted labor leader in England. Others in the family have been Members of Parliment, Congressmen, Jurists, Edu cators and Authors. His father, Rev. J, T. Husted of Grand Rapids, is one of the best known Congregational cler gymen in the middle west. The maternal family is connected with the aristocracy of Europe. His mother is the first cousin of the late liaron Springer of Sweden, and is re lated to the ruling houses of England and Holland. Mr. Husted's grand mother was an aunt of the late Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain.) Mr. Husted himself is a full-fledged American, combining the temperamen tal and public spirit of the paternal 6ide with the artistic and humorous qualities from the maternal side. He is very broad-minded, a clean-cut thinker and a forcible and entertaining speaker. It has been said of him that "Mark Twain cast down npon him his mantle because he was to be his successor." As a Chautauqua attraction, Mr. Hu sted is classed ,with the best. As a characterist he has received the best.of training, having been associated with many of the leadiug dramatic artists in this country. This entertainment is to be given in the interests of the Public schools and we are assured of something away above the ordinary.
