C. L. Rrody, County Agent A Thanksgiving Social. Wiiliam Jennings Bryan once 6aid, "Thanksgiving is of little value if our expressions of gratitude have no effect upon our own conduct." The truth of this statement was clearly seen on Tuesday evening, when the Young People of the Mechanic Street Church of Christ met at the home of Elam Sloat for a class dinner. This class is made up of young men and, women, known and respected in our town. Through their veins runs the good, patriotic blood thick and fast. They are proud of their ilag and loyal to its principles. Much of this credit is due to their public and high school teachers. For the splendid arrangement of their social evening and the Thanks giving dinner, they deserve credit. Songs, solos, duets, speeches, jokes, games and special music by Mr. and Mrs. Faber really deserve more than passing mention. Then came the impree&ive roast goose and turkey. My, what a treat to the forty-four (including the class and invited guests) who had gathered lor the occasion. It will be an event long remembered. Social Evening. The students of the high school and the faculty honored the members ,of the football team by giving them a social evening in Central hall on Wed nesdav. Games and dancing were indulged in and a splendid good time was enjoyed by all. An appetizing lunch was serv ed late in the evening, which seemed to give ju6t the right ending to the pleasant hours. This get-together gathering did much toward proving that the real school spirit in Yale high is very much alive and the feeling or friendliness ana good fellowship is strong.
