Notice of Letting
x Foley Drain Contract
Notice is Hereby Given, That I,
Ira K. Chase, County Drain Com
missioner of the County of St.
Clair, State of Michigan, will on
the 22nd day of September, A. D.
1919 at residence of John Brady,
S. K. V4, Section 15 in the Town
ship of Emmett at nine o'clock in
the forenoon of that day, proceed
to receive bids for the construc
tion of a certain drain, known and
designated as the Foley Drain in
said Township of Emmett, in said
county and state, and described as
follows: to wit: Whole length of
drain is 8400 feet; fall 1G.98 feet.
Reference is nereby made to the
profile of the cut and grade of the
same which is made a part of this
survey and refers to a more par
ticular part thereof.
Said job will be let by sections.
The sections at the outlet of said
drain will be let first and the re
maining sections in iheir order up
stream in accordance with the di
agram now on file with other pa
pers pertaining to said drain in
the office of the county drain
commissioner in saiu county of St.
Clair, to which reference may be
had by all persons interested and
bids will be made and received ac
cordingly. Contracts will be made
with the lowest responsible bidder
giving adequate security for per
formance of the work in a sum
then and there to be fixed by me,
reserving to myself the right tore
serving to myself the right to re
ject any and all bids. The date
of completion of such contracts
and the terms of payment thereof
shall and will be announced at
the time and place of letting.
Notice is further hereby given.
that at the time and place of said
letting or at such other time and
place thereafter to which I, the
county drain commissioner, may
adjourn the same, the assessment
for benefits and the lands com
prised within the "Foley Special
Assessment Dist." and the appor
tionment thereof will be announc
ed by me and will be subject to
review for one day from 9:00
o'clock in the forenoon until 5:00
in the afternoon. The following

could not be secured upon said
deiendants, George L. Gibbon and
Hannah Gibbon, within the state
of Michigan; and it further ap
pearing by affidavit on file that
said defendants are not residents
of this state, but are residents of
the state of Ohio. On motion of
Fred A. Farr, attorney for plain
tiff, it is ordered that the appear
ance of said defendants, George
L. Gibbon and Hannah Gibbon, be
entered in this cause within three
(3) months from the date of this
order and that in case of their
appearance, they cause their ans
wer to the bill of complaint to be
filed, and a copy thereof served
upon the attorney for the plaintiff
within fifteen (15) days after ser
vice upon them or their attorney
of a copy of said bill; and that in
default thereof, that said bill be
taken ax confessed by the said

Expositor, a newspaper printed
