Parker, of Detroit, was in Yale this week on a visit to his daughter and brother. Maurice Merrill, of the U. of M. is spending the holidays with his Yale relatives and frejids. L. G. McDonald, pf Pontiac, spent part of last week with rela tives and friends in Yale. Mrs. Sam Ingram and daughter Thelma went to Detroit on Sat urday to spend Christmas. Mrs. Hiram Brown spent the past week in Croswell with her daughter, Mrs. Earl Loree. Bernice Farley, of Richmond, visited her girl friend, Mildred Patterson, Wednesday night. Kenneth Thompson of Altoona, Pa., was the guest of the Frank W. Andreae family Christmas time. Mr. and Mrs. S. Howard Smith, of Detroit, were guests of Grant Holden and family Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Tice and baby of Detroit, were guests in the Learmont home for over Christmas. Bruce N. Tappan, son of Judge1 Harvey Tappan, has been elected as president of the Kawanis club of Port Huron. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crocker and daughter Lulu spent Christ mas day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Menno Bean. Mrs. Charles Cavanagh has been suffering this week from an attack of appendicitis. She is much improved today. Mrs. Mary Simmons went to North Branch on Tuesday, where she will visit for a time with her brother, J. A. Raply and family. Mrs. A. Windsor is in Detroit this week on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Middleton. Dick says he is cheif cook and bottle washer now. Nick Ingroville, of Grand Rap ids, was the guest of his sister, Mrs. Alfred Martin, at the Pres byterian manse, over Christmas. Members of the Micheal Shee hy family went to Detroit to spend Christmas with their moth er and other relatives, holding a family reunion. Mrs. Hattie Hisey came from Wayne last week to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Andrea for the remainder of the winter. Mrs. E. G. Smith and neice, Martha Jane Calkins, went to De troit Saturday to spend ChrisU mas with Martha Jane's mother and other relatives. ' Mr. and Mrs. Lynford McDon ald of Avoca, made the Expositor a short call Wednesday while re turning from Imlay City on :i vis it to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Middle ton. The Christmas exercises, pro grams and parties held by the various Sunday schools of the city, were all happy occasions and deeply enjoyed by the partic ipators. Lawrence Sheehy entertained a party of young people at his home on Christmas eve. A big dinner was served at which twenty-one were present, several be ing out-of-town guests. Mrs. H. W. Brown received a neat card from her daughter at Croswell, this week which con tainect the following: "Announc ing the arrival of Breta EstelU Loree on Dec. 15. 1922. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Loree." It cannot be said that the re appointment of Mrs. LeMotte as postmaster at Memphis has cre ated an uproarious enthusiasm. There were a number of live Re publicans at Memphis, entitled by reason of good service to a political reward, from which se lection might have been made. Our Louie, who does not think much of live Republicans, reap points the Democrats. Mt. Clem ens Monitor. E. T. Blackney, county school commissioner, of Port Huron, made a short visit in Yale while driving home from Capac, Satur day last. He made the Expositor office a pleasant call. Vera Wallace from Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Art Dennis :md child ren from Kinde, Mrs. Wr.i. Tom linson and little daughler, Mr. and Mrs. Rawley Hallman and children of Yale, had Christmas dinner on Sunday at the James Wallace parental- home. James Muir, of Detroit, at one time a resident of Yale, was in the city Friday and Saturday calling on friends. Jim has made good since his residence in De troit and is in comfortable cir cumstances. He still owns his forty-acre farm north and west of Yale. A Christmas dinner was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Fletcher with Watson McP'-ee of Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Al Sit ter of Speaker, Nr. and Mrs. L. V. Andreae and children of Avoca and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy An drews and children of Midland as guests. Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Herbert en tertaned on Christmas day Mr. and Mrs. J. I). Draper and child ren from Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Taylor and daughter Retty autoed to Davi son to spend Christmas day. We missed the name of Dick Staloy last week among the col lege students home for the holi days. Cyrus Ludington, whose home is in Flint, is in Yale where he will remain for a time working at his trade. Mr. and Mrs. Jule Ilennessy and family, of Poet Huron, were guests of Yale relatives for the Christmas week end. Mr. and Mrs. J. Charles Smith, of Port Huron, were guests at the J. A. Menzies home from Satur day until Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peacock left Friday evening for an ex tended visit with Mr. Peacock's parents in Cuba City, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Brown and son Colin are spending the week in Battle Creek with their son Jas. L. Brown and family. Jeannette Curtis, teaching at Flint, is home for two weeks va cation. She brought one of her kindergarten pupils home with her. A number of young people fin ished up the Christmas dav with an evening of dancing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank An dreae. ' Mr. and Mrs. James Shaw had several of her children home for the Christmas season, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Wilt and children from Ionia, Madaline from De troit, Norma from Howell and .Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bradley from Roseburg. Thomas Mullaney, of Detroit, who came to Roseburg to spend Christmas with relatives was taken suddenly ill on Sunday, be coming unconscious almost at once. The case was pronounced pneumonia. Physicians and two trained nurses are in attendance and it is hoped that the patient may recover. ! Frances Andreae received a somewhat unique but a wonder ful Christmas gift in the shape of a pedigreed German Police , dog, a puppy about six weeks old, bred in the kennels on Long Island. Frances is thoroughly pleased with her new pet.
