ASSEMBLY WILL OPEN JUNE 28 FOR ONE WEEK Assembly Will Close on Evening of July 4th—Whole Week of Thril ling Attractions—Program for Each Day Given in Detail. •x The sixteenth annual assembly of the Tacoma Park association will open at the park on Sunday, June 28, and will continue through July 4th. The board of directors of the association has arranged a week of pleasure for all, various attractions of all kinds being billed for the week. This assembly week will ibe one which everyone should make a point of attending as It will be forim full of many thrilling sensations: Sports are emphasized this year. There will Ibe a good baseball game every afternoon at 4 o'clock and there will be a 'balloon ascension at 11 each morning. The program will be as follows: Sunday, June 28 Sermon, 11 a. m. Dr. James Robinson, of Slsseton, is visiting iMr. and Mrs. Thos. El liott. He is a brother of .the lat ter. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Caryl Wilbur, assistant cashier of the Columbia State bank, returned from Cresco, Iowa, Saturday night, 'bringing home his bride. Monday ev ening the iband was out in full force to serenade the happy couple, Mrs. Arthur Hastings, ,who lias visited since spring with her mother, Mrs. iH. B. McGregor, during the diptheria scourge in Aberdeen, goes home with the children this week. As these items are being made up a rumor comes over the wire that on Wednesday of this week, James Everson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Everson, will wed Miss Anna Gilchrist, one of Columbia's most popular young ladies. They are very estimable young people and their many friends wish them every pos sible good fortune, -v.- Born, last Saturday, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ringenberg, a son. The Farmers' Elevator company held a 'business meeting this week Wednesday, to complete a number of transactions preparatory to start ing the business. Earnie Wynn is engaged at the Osthoff drug store. Eddie Bean, carrier on rural route number two, was In Aberdeen on Saturday, taking the carrier's civil service examination. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Everson are visiting a sister of the. former, Mrs. McGoggan, at Aehley, N. D. The Ladies' Aid met last Thurs day with Mrs. William Klepfer. The Missionfest held last Sunday at the German church in Brainard, was the occasion of a very large gathering. Rev. Graber, of Aber deen, was present with the choir and band from his church. Pastors of several other churches were also present. The program, in addition to the music, included a sermon in the forenoon' and afternoon. The crowd greatly exceeded the capacity of the church and benches were pro vided outside. The younger children at the Kluck home are having a run of the meas les. The movers are at work on the old court house which is to be the new three-story hotel. Rollers will be used as it is rather too large to load on trucks. The Columbia State bank Is .pre paring to 'build a new 'brick 'building 25x60 on the site of the present bank building. The present build ing will be removed to the rear of the lot to make room for the new structure. Bun Hollenbeck bought the stock of merchandise from Perry and Hunter and opened business at once. Rev. Foster, of Java, filled the pulpit in the Presbyterian church Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Will Comer,' of Northville, were Mansfield visitors Sunday. Mrs. Will Paine is reported quite sick at the present writing. Henry Kruger is the proud pos sessor of a brand new horse and •buggy. "Guess that's going some." The train will leave Aberdeen at 7:30 on Sun day morning and will leave Water town on return at 11 o'clock Sunday night. Present. indications point to a large number of Aberdeen knights, as they are eager to show their Wa tertown brethren that they can re turn the compliment extended to them not long since by the Water town boys, when they came to Aber deen on a special train to attend a like ceremonial in this city. Other people besides the-knights who wish to go to Watertown and back for the small sum of $2.50, the special rate, can take advantage of this opportunity and go on the spe cial train on Sunday.
