When they were a little, way from the house they Heard a sound whicn Mrs Hunt savs was like "throwing a big stone against the barn." This was probably when her husband tired the fatal shot. They thought nothing of it at the time and vent on. buc a few minutes later it, bean tu rain and they went back to the house waiting on the 'piazza until the shower passed, when they again went after berries and did rot get baek until nearly two o'clock. Xot tinding ber husband in the front part of the bouse, Mrs Hunt thought be must be taking a nap and went to tbeir back room, when she found his bodv dead on the rloor with the emiitv re volver clasped in bis right hand. lie had apparently stood Iu front of tbe mirror, placed the revolver within an inch of bis head itist ba'k of bis right ear. and pulled tbe trigger. Tbe bullet pasted through his head and lodged in the ceiling at some distance after passing through one partition. ihe size of the revolver made tbe wound a fearful one, the back side vt hi. bead bciog practically torn In pieces, the blood and brain matter scat tered about the room. Death ot course was Instantaneous. At a corouer'a inmost the evidence introduced showed that Hunt bought the farm where he lived and D ild Slow down aod agreed to pav SilKJ more the first ol October. Hist wife's parents lUranu Mrs waterman irom Hardwtck' came to live with them and the neigh, bors supposed that Mr Waterman was to help pay for the farm, but two weeks .go Mr Waterman went away and since that time Hunt was very despondent and downhearted. Mrs Hunt stated that she found her husband with a pistol in his hand sev eral days ago and took it awav from him as he acted queer, but she thought he hud gotten over his attack of tbe blues yesterday. Yesterday morning Hunt borrowed the revolver he used of a man working for him sayicg be wanted it to shoot a cat. Sn in in. rinse.
