This production will not only be one of the most meritorious, but one of the most enjoyable ever given by the Redpath. Another of the radically new fea tures of this year will he community singing each day under the direction of a trained leader. The audiences during the week will in this way be given an opportunity to take a more active part in the chautauqua. Noth ing in the musical life of America is more hopeful or significant than the movement for community singing now sweeping over the entire country. In all the larger cities and in many of the smaller ones during the past year, people have come together . in great numbers to give expression to their natural love for music. In Chicago last summer is was inspiring to hear 4,000 voices each night for a week on the Municipal Pier giving vent to their patriotic feeing through our national airs. Professor W. L. Tomlins, who had charge, has been secured by the ' Redpath to select and coach the lead ers who will direct the community singing at the chautauqua this sum mer. The Mother Goose festival will de light the children. Grownups also will be pleased to meet again these well remembered characters from the days of nursery lore, which will come forth from an especially constructed "Mother Goose" book. Another , day will feature Antonio Sala, noted Spanish 'cellist, and Wa tahwaso, an Indian princess prima donna. Watahwaso appears in In- caan costume, singing Indian songs and telling Indian legends. She is young and beautiful, vivacious, and gifted, with a personality one seldom meets on the platform. She will easily prove a sensation. The lectures of this season will again bring the usual inspiration and helpfulness, both to individuals and , communities, so essential to a well balanced chautauqua week. Everyone ; will remember the great Health day i program presented by Dr. Chas. E, BarKer two years ago. This year i "Efficiency" will be featured. The specialist on the subject will be II L. Fogelman, of New York City, known as "Gatling-gun Fogelman,' because of his ability to speak 300 words a minute. Mr. Fogelman makes the point that every human being is salesman, if he sells nothing more man nis personality. In a magnetic way he will explain the laws of sales manship, .which should interest women In their homes as much as merchants in their stores. Miss Marie Mayer, who played the part of Alary jMagdalene in the Pas sion Play at Oberammergau in 1910, the only aetor in this world-famous drama who has ever spoken in Amer ica. will lecture on the Passion Play. Dr. George L. McNutt, widely known as "the dinner pail man," who many, years ago left a Presbyterian pulpit in Illinois to study labor con ditions, comes on this program with a timely and eloquent message. Mr, McNutt has gained his knowledge in the laboratory of living men.
