Gets Big Reception

Strangler" Lewis, world's champion
heavyweight wrestler. was ' given a
nome-coming reception here on ms
arrival from New York, where he
last week took the championship
from Joe Stecher. He is San Jose's
first world's champion, and the citi
zens mad much of the occasion.
Lewis was presented with a hand
some silver cup and was induced to
make an address of acceptance.
After admitting "that as an orator"
he was "a good wrestler" Lewis told
the crowd which gathered to do him
honor that he . valued the esteem
of .his townsmen more than the
championship.

Foe, of St. Paul, and Freddy Jacks.
