Come. If you would know why we celebrate and how why we may seem boastful, when we are only thankful read these lines: Seventeen months ago plans for this store were announced and the business world stood aghast the country was in an unsettled financial condition and 16th and Howard streets was not a proven location thousands of thoughtful men shook their heads and called us audacious. When our doors opened Sept. 5th, 1908, Omaha people were taken by surprise. Not until then did they realize what we had labored night and day to prepare for them. The 35,000 people who visited us out of curiosity lingered out of enchantment and most of them expressed appreciation of our efforts and accomplishments. We realized, however, that the success of this store depended on what we did every day rather than what we did on Opening Day, and for the past year every person connected with this establishment has labored zealously to fulfill the promise then given to give Omaha a clothes store second to none in the country. To that promise and to the thousands who placed their confidence in us wc owe our extraordinary success. We feel grateful indeed. On this, our first birthday celebration, we can promise even morehan a year ago, and, we'll be honest with you, we expect more, for we expect to about double the past year's business because As we then saw the opportunity to found a great store, and also saw the way b.y having our store the kind to attract people; our store service the kind to protect people; our merchandise the kind to satisfy people, and our prices the kind to benefit people we now see the way to extend our field of endeavor for We hope to retain our present patronage intact and expect to augment it greatly by dealing as fairly as, and offering even greater price inducements than, in the past, and in every way maintaining the inimitable store service that has already gained for us the unfaltering loyalty of the largest following of careful clothes buyers ever enjoyed by an Omaha store. We earnestly invite your patronage. This Store Shows as Many New Fall Suits as Any 3 Omaha Stores. A bold, Broad Statement but a Positive Fact The fabric and the suit Z In our windows we display many fabrics in conjunc tion with the finished garment because we want you to see what faultless clothes go into our garments. We pur chase fabrics and have them tailored because we can thus give to our customers a finer garment than would be pos sibly by buying in the usual way from manufacturers who would surely demand a middleman's profit. Doesn't it stand to reason that we bought cheaper last January when the mills submitted us samples than we could buy nowt The raise in price since then and the maker's per centage 6aved by us means a saving to you of 15 to 25&. We earnestly ask you to see ours before, deciding the Fall chut question.
