Two children were in the building at the time, the oldest a little chap of 6, the youngest an infant/ After maklug liis cscape from the house the brave little 6 year-old thought of the baby left alone to perish in the flames, and, like the hero he was, re-entered the burning building in the hope of effecting a rescue. That he failed to accomplish the task was because his little strength was insufficient to battle with the smoke and flames, and he died as true a hero as ever graced a page of history.
