Hicks for December: Storms of rain, wind and snyw will be in progress over much of the country on the 1st and 2d, to t-""• west winds and muoh colder weather north- following promptly from western ex tremes. Between the 2d and 5th, the progressive high barometer and cold from northwest will make themselves felt over most parts of the country. A tionary storm period is central on the 5th and 6th. About the 5th warmer weather and falling barometervwill begin to tbe westward, and from that date un-' til after full moon on the 8tb, rising tem peratures, telling barometer and storms of rain, wind and snow will be general. Do not forget that the storm areas trav el from west to east, oooupying from two to four days ia their transits aoross the country, but oovering no seotion, as a rale, more than a day or two continu ously. The disturbance about 6th to 8th, will bring heavy winds and rain, with winter lightning and^jthunder to the south, turning to snow and ending in a sharp cold wave, northward. It will be prudent to anticipate all the oold waves, in greuter or less severity, far southward during this month. The 10th to 15th will bring severe storms. About the 11th to 13th, low barometer, wind, rain and snow in all sections in their eastward progress. Dangerous blizzards during this period. From 16th to 18th, high barometer, reaoting into unsettled weather with snow and rain. From 21sr to 25th, very marked storm period. A general and tiroe cold wave will be the sequel of these storms. Brunt, cashier of the Keokuk County bank, alleging that the latter had alienated, his wife's affec tions. Mrs. Wood is a prominent church worker and was always highly respected. Lynching Party of One. EVERGREEN, Ala., Dec. 2.—William Ellis, a farmer living near here, took a negro named Cook King to a swamp, tied him to a tree and shot him to death. Intimacy with Ellis' daughter is the alleged cause. Many Cattle Burned. CLARKSVILLE, la., Dec. 2.—J. F. King's barn burned during the night with 54 yearling cattle and 2 cows, and all his hay and feed. King was badly burned about the legs and head iu his efforts to get the stock out.
