HEALTH_0F STATE Physicians Will be Interested in Statement by Dotae Robinson Pierre. H. D.. Nov. lx.-I wish to call the attention of physicians, clerks of courts and tne people generally to the splendid advertising given to South Dakota, through every newspaper in America using Associated Press re ports, is the news special from Wash ington, in which the government offi cials accord to South Dakota the pre eminence of being the healthiest state in the union and consequently the healthiest community in the world. This distinction is based upon the re ports of deaths to this department as required by law. If South Dakota is to retain this official recognition of oui healthfuhiess every person charged with the duty of making reports must be vigilant and prompt in the perform ance of duty. Should the national census next June develop that we are not securing reports upon at least ninety per cent of all births and deaths, we will not be permitted to remain in the recognized registration area. Money cannot. purchase adver tising so valuable to the state as the official report of our healthfulness spread broadcast over the warld by the Associated Press. 1 trust every citizen will appreciate the value of these re ports and do all he can to assnre their accuracy, by reporting every birth and death, for the report of which he is li able. The importanoe of this work justifies co opeiation of all citizens to make the returns Ad perfect. Doane Robinson, Secretary. Financial Statement No. 3,141*.
