Tho expected clash wns short, but in

what reason is merely conjecture.
Tho present system, which consists
of n common privy, set over n vault,

nervislnc Architect Puch. TWe bill
was referred to the finance committee,
the chairman of which, Dr. Epley, nt
once raised the question as to tbo au
thority of the architect In making any
alterations in the plans without con
sulting the board. This bill will likely
be the subject for iBtermtiug develop
ment next Saturday night.
After a short disusion the board
finally deelded not to bond the district
to pay for the erection of the new high
school building, but to issue promis
sory notes in amounts ranging from 50
upwards. The matter was referred to
Chairman Condit, to make the neces
sary preliminary arrangements.
On motion of Dr. Brrd the commit
tee on supplies was ordered to purchase
chairs, desks settees and laboratory
supplies in aeeordaaee with plans pre
viously adopted.
The committee which had been ap
pointed to investleate the charges of
alleged graft, preferred against former
Superintendent Traver in regard to the
installation of a heatiae plant in the
new high sehool building, by Attorney
John A. Carson, recommended that the
charges be diitntaed, as the ekarces
could not be fully sustained. The com
mittee, which was composed of Byrd,
Lee and Condit, made as thorough an
investigation as possible, but the tes
timony reeeired was confined to affi
davits, Mr. Carson being unable to pre
sent his witness in person.
Various claim were also presented
against the district, and all were re
ferred to the committee on fin we.
